A Rare Complication of Closed Loop Obstruction with Mesenteric Volvulus Due to Jejunal Diverticulosis—a Case Report

Jejunal diverticulosis is a rare condition seen in 1–2% of the population and asymptomatic 80% its patients. It can however rarely produce life-threatening complications such as perforation, bleeding, obstruction. Diagnosis often delayed patients causing high mortality. We report 79-year-old gentleman presenting with intestinal obstruction for 2 days peritoneal signs. CT revealed jejunal dilatation twisting mesentery whirlpool sign closed loop jejunum. A differential diagnosis should be considered when encountering elderly age group an emergency setting.
